ACIL Executive Director

(Full-Time Exempt Position)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for leading ACIL in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
  •  Knowledge of the civil rights movement for people with disabilities including current trends and issues, federal civil rights laws prohibiting discrimination based on disability.
  • Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.
  • Develop resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.
  • Responsible for developing other revenues necessary to support ACILs mission.
  • Responsible for the fiscal integrity of ACIL, to include submission to the Board of Directors a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
  • Meet regularly with the Board of Directors to discuss progress of the Center’s goals and objectives and to identify needs and develop strategies for service.
  • Schedule regular staff meetings to assess progress, identify needs and set priorities.
  • Ensure that all personnel and consumer privileged information is kept in the strictest of confidence and HIPPA regulations followed.
  • Responsible for the implementation of ACILs five core services.
  • Responsible for the enhancement of ACILs image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic, and private organizations, and excellent coalition-building skills.
  • Oversee and implement appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.
  • Supervise, collaborate and responsible for hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff.
  • Responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and grants made and entered into on behalf of the organization.
  • Report to and work closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions, and to increase the overall visibility of the organization.
  • Strategic planning and implementation.
  • Planning and operation of annual budgets.
  • Serve as ACIL’s primary spokesperson to the organization’s constituents, the media and public.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance ACILs Mission.
  • Establish employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operations.
  • Review and approve all contracts for services.
  • Participate in training opportunities to enhance knowledge and skill consistent with a personalized individual professional development plan.
  • Oversee the JobQuest employment program, ensuring its effective operation and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage the Garden of Giving Food Pantry, including daily operations and inventory management.
  • Supervise and maintain community-raised garden beds, fostering community engagement and ensuring sustainable growth.


MINIMUM PROFESSIONAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Transparent and high integrity leadership.
  • Five or more years of nonprofit or governmental experience, preferably in independent living; of which two years must be administrative or supervisory level responsibility. Master’s or other advanced degree may substitute for administrative/supervisory experience requirement.

  • Experience and skills in working with a Board of Directors.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff.
  • Solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong public speaking.
  • Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy.


Salary Range:

Salary is negotiable ($51,000 - $66,000) (includes $3,000 increase for health insurance purchase), plus benefits including dental insurance, vision insurance, disability insurance, IRA with company match, annual, holiday, and sick leave.
