Discover Support and Connection

 at ACIL

Have you ever wondered how others with similar disabilities navigate independent living?

At ACIL, we believe in the power of peer support. That’s why we offer several support groups—such as our Autism Support Group, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Group, and General Support Group—each led by people with disabilities. These groups meet monthly to discuss meaningful topics chosen by members themselves, often addressing challenges and experiences that others may not fully understand.

Through these gatherings, members build confidence, strengthen social skills, and form lasting connections. For individuals who are newly disabled, these groups can provide encouragement, guidance, and a sense of belonging.

Because our members expressed interest in enjoying recreational activities together, ACIL established a small recreation fund supported by generous donations. This has made it possible for groups to share memorable experiences—like bowling nights, fishing trips, and celebrating the holidays with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.  We welcome suggestions on activities you would enjoy.

If you have a disability and are looking for a welcoming community, join our groups!
